Science and Technology Park and Institute of Technology and Materials
The laboratories of STP and ITM offers a wide variety of material analyses and other services from the field of materials and technologies. The departments have a state-of-the-art modern equipment and instrumentation: electron microscope, Q4 Tasman spectrometer, Inspekt 100kN universal testing machine, iSpeed high-speed camera, thermal imaging camera and etc.
We specialise in:
- Destructive testing
- Non-destructive testing
- Chemical testing
- Special tests (measuring structural components of materials, thermodynamic analyses, etc.)
- Industrial process analyses
- Solving technological problems related to processing aluminium
- Courses and lectures on the fields of materials and technologies
For detailed information about the services we offer, please see the FSI STP services (.pdf). You can find detailed information about the instrumentation of ITM laboratories here.
Institute of Machines and Power Engineering
The IMPE laboratories are equipped with instrumentation for experimental research and development in the field of analyses and optimisation of mechanical systems. We also offer services in the field of automation
We specialise in:
- Measuring kinematic and dynamic quantities of motion
- Measuring electrical quantities
- Kinematical and dynamical analyses, synthesis and optimisation of mechanisms, including the measurement of required quantities
- Automation and robotisation of production machines and production lines
- Numerical modelling in the field of mechanics and a transfer of momentum, heat and mass (ADAMS, ANSYS, etc.)
- In the field of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, we focus on modern measurement methods (mostly laser anemomentric methods):
- measuring 3D velocity fields in water and air (PIV)
- measuring concentration and temperature fields in fluids (PLIF)
- measuring the size of transparent particles by IPI method (droplets in air, small bubbles
Our 3D printing centre offers:
- Printing with classic FDM printers
- SLA printing with the use of photosensitive materials
- 3D scanning and creating digital models of components
You can find detailed information about the instrumentation of IMPE here.
